Join Preservation Durham members and friends at Morgan Imports, corner of Gregson and Peabody Streets, on Friday night, November 11 for the 2011 Preservation Party and Fall Fundraiser. Kick-off your holidays with style, fun, and excitement all to benefit Preservation Durham! The party opens at 6:00pm and closes at 9:30, and admission is FREE. Host Morgan Imports donates 10% of their sales proceeds that night to Preservation Durham, so plan to purchase your holiday gifts and decorations during the festivities!
The Preservation Party Silent Auction provides a great opportunity to bid on exciting goods and services donated by local businesses. Some of this year's offerings include tickets for the Betty Buckley-Broadway by Request performance on November 20 (Carolina Theatre), movie passes (Carolina Theatre), $50 gift certificates (Arete Gallery), gift certificates (Hamilton Hill Jewelry), a lovely vase (Nomadic Trading Company), and a Bag of Books (Regulator Bookshop). All proceeds of silent auction sales support Preservation Durham's preservation programs. Every year, partygoers enjoy delicious food provided by Durham restaurants and live music by local performers. Strolling emcee and Durham history mavin Tom Miller challenges partygoers with the ever-popular Durham History Quiz, awarding fabulous prizes for correct answers. Note to trivia players: watch Tom's eyebrows for help with those more difficult questions about the Bull City!
