Preservation Durham is excited to introduce our newest walking tour on the history of baseball in Durham! Baseball has played an instrumental role in Durham's history, and Durham has played a valuable role in shaping the game we know and love. Learn more about the fans, players, and rituals that have spanned one hundred years of Durham's baseball history.

We were delighted when one of our volunteers/members and local baseball enthusiast, Valerie Jarrett, offered to research and lead a Durham Baseball History Walking Tour! Valerie has spent time in local archives, talking with community members, and reflecting on her love for baseball to craft this new tour.

This tour is even more relevant, as Preservation Durham continues to advocate for the preservation of the historic Durham Athletic Park. We hope that sharing the history of Durham baseball will not only be fun and insightful, but also a motivator for community support in the preservation of the DAP.

Space is very limited, so we recommend registering for tickets ASAP.
